Major Prize winner at 1770 Art Prize, 2023!
Judged by QAGOMA's Tarragh Cunningham, Vanessa's painting Judith with the head of Holofernes won the $5000.00 major prize.
Inspired by both personal experience and Artemesia Gentileschi's highly emotive version, this painting references the biblical story of Judith and Holofernes, and has become the latest of many versions painted by artists throughout the centuries.
